David Wilson Homes finds cash in the attic
David Wilson Homes sales advisor, John Wain, has been delving into a local Warrington attic with best friend and former pop-star Toyah Wilcox to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.Clambering through dust and clutter, the dynamic duo managed to raise £1,750 by finding and auctioning off hidden antique treasures on a special celebrity edition of the popular TV show, Cash in the Attic. In addition, David Wilson Homes North West has donated a further £1000 to the money raised, taking the total to an impressive £2,750.
On hand to present the cheque to Grace Bennett, fund raising manager from Macmillan Cancer Support, at David Wilson Homes Woodbury Park development, John commented: "I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved with the fund raising effort and especially to David Wilson Homes for their support and generosity in helping to raise such a fantastic amount of money.
"The presentation was a great way to mark my return to the Woodbury Park development and I am delighted to be a part of the David Wilson Homes team again."
Shohreh Bowler, sales director for David Wilson Homes North West, added: "John and Toyah did such a fantastic job raising money that we wanted to show our own support for them and this worthwhile charity by adding to the donation. They both have shown a real dedication and passion through raising the money. John is a real asset to the David Wilson Homes team and we are all delighted to have him back on board at Woodbury Park."
Accepting the cheque on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support, Grace thanked the team for all of their support: "We were really excited when we heard that John and Toyah were going to be starring on Celebrity Cash in the Attic for the charity - it is a great show and we thoroughly enjoyed watching them trying to raise as much as possible for Macmillan. We were even more delighted when we found out that David Wilson Homes was going to add another £1,000 to the pot and would like to say a big thank you to everyone involved for all of their hard work. Macmillan Cancer Support works to improve the lives of people affected by cancer and this money will help make a genuine difference to those who need it most."
