5th August 2009 Print
Celebrate the “craic” at Lough Erne To celebrate Lough Erne’s completion of its collection of all 101 Irish whiskies, the hotel has teamed up with Bushmills the oldest whiskey distillery in Ireland, to launch Lough Erne’s “Irish Whiskey Experience” for the corporate and incentive markets.

The new package, which is available from 1 September 2009, costs from £210 per person based on groups of 6 to 12.

The five star resort in North West Ireland is set on a 600-acre peninsula between Castle Hume Lough and Lower Lough Erne in the Fermanagh Lakelands and provides an inspirational venue, easily accessible for any business or group. The 24-hour package includes the exclusive whiskey tasting experience, meeting room hire and accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, refreshments throughout the day, a two-course lunch and use of the infinity pool & thermal suite at The Thai Spa. Additional nights cost from £170 pp.

The oldest whiskey distillery in Ireland, Old Bushmills opened in 1608 and is the only distillery in Ireland to make triple-distilled malt whiskey. The “Irish Whiskey Experience” starts with a history and overview of the distillery house from one of Lough Erne’s certified Irish Whiskey team, and is followed by a tasting session of the Bushmills whiskey family and ideas about how each whiskey is best served and paired and the difference between Irish whiskey and Scotch whisky.

With The Blaney Bar at Lough Erne now offering all 101 Irish whiskies from the six Irish distilleries (Bushmills, Royal Irish Distillery, Cooley Distillery, Comber Distillery, Midleton and Old Powers Distillery) it is the ideal place to retire to at the end of the day. Each of the 101 whiskeys has its own distinctive character and flavour so there plenty of drams to be enjoyed.
