Treat your dad to real Yorkshire ale this Father’s Day

Show your Dad how much he means to you this Father’s Day (21st June) with a trip to Pennine Yorkshire. Forget socks and card, show him an experience he’ll remember forever! Steeped in culture, heritage and indulgence, the region boosts unique attractions and luxurious accommodation.

To commemorate Father’s Day Pennine Yorkshire has put together some suggested packages:

Summer Wine Brewery & Nora Batty’s Cottage, Pennine Yorkshire

Nestled in the Holme Valley, Summer Wine Brewery produces a large range traditional fine ales, including Holmfirth IPA, Helios and Galleon. Claiming to be ‘A Taste of Holmfirth’ this brewery uses time honoured techniques to produce the finest ales.

Price: Tours can last between 1-2 hours from 5pm daily. For £10 per head visitors receive a pint cask of ale, finger buffet, tour of brewery and explanation of brewing processes.

Whilst in Holmfirth stay at the famous Nora Batty’s Cottage - fans from around the world have stayed and had a unique experience in the most famous house in TV Comedy. Be the envy of millions of fans throughout the world by staying in this tasteful shrine to Nora - fully furnished, as only Nora would have it!

Price: One week at the three-star cottage starts from £250 per week and sleeps six people.

Saltaire Brewery and Visitor Centre & Ford House Farm B&B, Pennine Yorkshire

Saltaire Brewery is dedicated to the production of high quality, traditional English ales. Situated in an old generating hall, in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Saltaire, that once provided the electricity for the Saltaire trams, the lofty Victorian architecture provides a perfect home to a 20 barrel brewhouse and visitor centre with mezzanine bar and exhibition about the science of brewing.

Price: Pre-booked visitors are welcome to the Saltaire Brewery on Thursdays between 7-9.30pm. For £5 visitors get a full tour of the brewery, entry to the interactive exhibition and a tasting tray of ale.

Ford House Farm Bed & Breakfast is four-star farmhouse set in the beautiful Pennine Yorkshire countryside. With spectacular views down the River Aire, Ford House is a perfect location to base yourself and explore the surrounding area.

Price: Bed and breakfast for two people costs £60

Little Valley Brewery & Holme House, Pennine Yorkshire

Little Valley Brewery is situated in the Upper Calder Valley high above Cragg Vale in Hebden Bridge. All Little Valley’s beers are 100% organic, certified and audited by the Soil Association. The beers are environmentally sound, from the quality of the ingredients through to delivery.

Price: Pre-booked brewery tours cost £3 per person and includes samples of Little Valley Brewery ale.

Holme House is a charming Georgian bed and breakfast establishment situated in the centre of Hebden Bridge, a unique and un-spoilt market town. Conveniently located for walkers, with popular routes nearby including the Pennine Way and Calderdale River Walk.

Price: £35 per person per night in five-star accommodation which includes breakfast

Tyas Cottage is a five-star, fully environmentally responsible self-catering accommodation provider. A combined cottage and barn is located on the site of the first water powered mill in the Colne Valley. The south facing, secluded, Grade II listed, stone-built cottage has been recently restored and furnished with antiques, including a carved four poster bed. The private terrace overlooking the countryside provides access to a large shared garden, river and mill pond. Located in an area of scientific interest, the cottage is ideally placed for bird watchers, nature lovers and hikers.

Price: One week at the five-star cottage starts from £245 per week and sleeps six people.

Folly Too is situated in the heart of the conservation village of Luddenden in the Calder Valley. It is an original old weaver's cottage dating back to the mid 19th century, with typical mullioned windows, beamed ceilings and the black and white facade of that era. Situated over three floors, the four-star cottage has been renovated to a high standard and features a stylish kitchen and a comfortable lounge.

Price: One week at the four-star, self-catering cottage starts from £180 per week and sleeps two people.

Higher Scholer Cottage is a single-story, detached cottage located in the heart of Bronte Country, commanding unrivalled views of Wuthering Heights moorland. This luxury five-star accommodation is decorated to a high standard with an original wood burning stove, the bathroom has underfloor heating and a beautiful roll top bath.

Price: One week at the five-star, self-catering cottage starts from £399 per week and sleeps four people. Price includes all linen, towels, luxury robes, wine, fruit, biscuits, tea, coffee, milk, sugar and parking.

In addition to the vast choice of breweries to visit, Pennine Yorkshire boasts a truly unique cultural heritage; where visitors can see anything from pre-historic rock carvings at Ilkley Moor - created by the first settlers to Pennine Yorkshire – to the world’s finest collection of contemporary sculpture at Yorkshire Sculpture Park.
