Thousands of Renault World Series tickets to be given away

Thousands of Renault World Series tickets to be given away Thousands of motorsport fans have already logged onto the official World Series by Renault website to apply for invitations to this season’s free motor racing festival at Donington Park on September 9th/10th. Since tickets became available last month, requests have been received for a total of almost 40,000 tickets, clear indication that last year’s crowd figure of 50,000 will be smashed.

The wow factor will come from the awesome sight of the R25, Renault F1 Team’s 2005 World Championship-winning Formula One car, being given an ear-splitting, high speed on-track demonstration on both days of the event. The car will also be on display in the paddock throughout the weekend, giving race fans a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with a multiple race-winning F1 car – something not available at any Grand Prix.

Fans will also see world-class single-seater racing from a full grid of fast and dramatic Formula Renault 3.5 cars plus races for both European and British level Formula Renault 2.0. Home interest in Formula Renault 3.5 is provided by Robbie Kerr, Stephen Kane, James Rossiter, Ben Hanley and Edwin Jowsey. Canadian Sean McIntosh will also race in this F1 ante-chamber series, having graduated from the 2005 Formula Renault UK Championship where he finished as runner-up.

Wheel to wheel, paint-swapping action is guaranteed when the simply awesome Eurocup Mégane Trophy makes its only UK appearance in front of one of the biggest crowds in UK motorsport. These massively powerful silhouette saloon racers made a huge impact on their debut at Donington Park last season and this year the grid is up to capacity to virtually guarantee exciting action over its two races.

Future Grand Prix stars are on show in the Formula Renault UK with Michelin championship – the series which produced the likes of Kimi Raikkonen, Pedro de La Rosa and Antonio Pizzonia – as the best young drivers competing in Britain get the opportunity to showcase their talent on a wider stage. The ELF Renault Clio Cup completes a packed support race bill and promises some of the closest racing of the weekend thanks to its no-fear brand of racing.

If fans dare move their eyes away from the track they’ll be treated to a vast array of attractions. The place will be crammed with sumptuous historic Renault racers, mouth- watering collectors’ cars and modern day owners’ clubs displays. Impressive product stands, Renaultsport and Formula One merchandising, Formula One simulators and a massive free fun fair will help keep the entire family happy, whilst up in the sky Tiger Airways will provide an aerobatic flying display in their Renault-engined biplanes.

To apply for tickets, fans can visit the official website at worldseriesbyrenault.com, select the Donington Park round and click on the link for Free Tickets. This will launch the application form to request a maximum of four tickets. There is also an option to subscribe to the Renaultsport e-newsletter to keep up to date with the latest news on the event.
