Citroen Xsara most popular people carrier

Citroen’s dancing car can now dance some more as the brand has come top in a survey of the most popular models by Quotea.co.uk.

In the company’s survey of the most popular people carriers, amongst both men and women it was the Citroen Xsara that came out on top.

The quotea.co.uk findings are based on the number of insurance quotes requested by owners of people carriers over a nine-month period to May 2005.

The Citroen Xsara got 29% of male votes and 23% of female votes. The sexes were also agreed on the number two spot, which went to the Vauxhall Zafira. Third most popular for men was the Renault Scenic, whilst women opted for the Ford Galaxy.

Perhaps surprisingly, only 52% of those wanting to insure their people carriers were married, so they could be just as popular with single mums and dads, or just singles with lots of friends!

Apart from practicality, the popularity of people carriers may also have something to do with the fact they are relatively cheap to insure, and even cheaper if people use a specialist like Quotea to find the best deals on offer.
