TV’s Martin Lewis supports song to hit banks Friday 23rd November 2007 is the pre-order launch date for a new track from the band "Oystar" (out on Tonedef Tunes/Indie Mobile). The re-worked Clash track, now entitled “I Fought the Lloyds”, is a novelty record with attitude.

The song is aimed at highlighting illegal bank charges and is widely tipped to enter the UK top 10 in the week of release due to the support of the UK’s most powerful consumer revenge website MoneySavingExpert.com.

With the landmark “bank charges” court case set for 14th January 2008, the almighty MoneySavingExpert.com has decided that their support of this anti bank charges song will continue to put pressure on the banks and will make a difference in changing the way banks interact with their customers. In doing so they are taking their campaign to millions more people – a campaign which has single handily helped millions of people reclaim illegal bank charges and is without doubt the most successful consumer revenge campaign in living memory.

The track was recorded by "Oystar" and tells the story of how singer Dan successfully reclaimed overdraft fees from Lloyds after following the step by step advice posted on the site by its founder TV’s Martin Lewis.

After hearing the track Martin Lewis has given the backing of MoneySavingExpert.com and its three million regular users. In fact, he likes the song so much that he has even appeared in the video!

Thanks to a collaboration between TuneTribe and MoneySavingExpert.com the track is to be sold on the MSE website via mobile purchase for the outstandingly good price of 50p! (plus normal texting charges). Thousands are expected to download the track as a protest at the way the banks have illegally charged people for going overdrawn.

The record is being pre-released on 23rd of November as a download only and people can pre order it from that date via their mobile phone by simply texting the word "bankers" to 82822 (50p plus standard texting charges).

The track will also be available on itunes and all major download stores from 7th January.
