Rocket Man Eric Teboul blasts to a 2-wheel world record
Two-wheeled legend Eric Teboul has been wowing crowds at Santa Pod Raceway all season with the unfeasible speeds of his rocket-powered jet-bike. The recent ‘Flame and Thunder’ event at the world-famous venue saw the unhinged Frenchman set a new World record with an incredible quarter mile pass that crossed the line at an astonishing 281.47 mph!
Despite strong headwinds at the capacity-packed event, Eric was clearly on a mission from the start. After a strong opening run, he was able to achieve this time on only his seconds pass, making him the fastest drag racing bike on the planet!
The run itself took only 5.2 seconds from start to finish, calling on impeccable control from the valiant Teboul. Catching up with him after the race, an evidently excited Eric said, ‘That was very fast! I only just stopped and it was very hard work with the brakes!’ At those kind of speeds, we’re not surprised!
Commenting on the event, Santa Pod’s general manager, David Lloyd-Jones said, ‘This is the great thing about Santa Pod. The heritage of the venue means that you can expect all of the drivers and riders to try their very best, whether it’s an ‘exhibition’ event like Flame and Thunder, or indeed, the European finals. Everybody wants to run their best pass here.. and it looks like Eric stepped up to the plate and delivered his in great style. We’re delighted with his performances all season.’
