Miller Homes' have linked up with Bury College to offer local design students a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity.

The UK’s largest privately owned house-builder has launched a competition with Bury College. Students have been invited to enter their designs for a large-scale mural at ‘Miller Homes @ The Rock’ development in Bury’s new town centre. The mural will feature in the foyer at Mazarin House and cover two internal walls with a total area of over 30 square metres and will be visible from St John’s Square.

Clare Noakes, Project Sales and Marketing Manager for ‘Miller Homes @ The Rock’ development, said: “This is a great opportunity for the student with the winning design to see their work taken from concept right through to the finished large scale mural and then have it on display in this landmark building for years to come. The brief we have provided asks for a strong reference to Bury and we are looking forward to seeing all the entries.”

John Pritchard, Bury College’s Assistant Curriculum Manager for Visual Arts, added: “This is a really great opportunity for our students to see their design work in a new way. Designing on such a big scale presents a fresh and unique challenge. It will offer invaluable experience for the student of the chosen design to see it taken through to the finished mural.”

Miller Homes @ The Rock development is a phenomenal success with 70 of the luxury apartments sold in just 9 months. With residency increasing at Mazarin House, the addition of the mural will provide some interesting local flavour to the large foyer area, making the Rock a Development for Bury to be extremely proud of.
