Discover the delights of Rhoscolyn

Discover the delights of Rhoscolyn, one of newlywed’s William and Kate’s favourite places in Anglesey, with luxury self-catering company Sheepskin.

Rhoscolyn House offers its own helicopter pad and private jetty and is an exciting addition to Sheepskin’s collection being just a mile away from the award winning White Eagle pub where the happy couple have regularly been seen.

Rhoscolyn was also the name given to one of the 30 tables at the couples’ evening reception in Buckingham Palace.

Sheepskin’s luxury holiday home is located in Rhoscolyn Bay as far west as you can go on Anglesey and close to William’s RAF base at Valley. The property, which started life as an 18th Century fisherman’s cottage, sleeps ten and costs £3155 for a week’s stay throughout 2011, or £315 per person based on 10 sharing.

Facilities include a large kitchen with open plan dining area looking out across the bay and a separate lounge with an open fire. There is a stunning master suite with super-king size bed, two further double rooms with en suite bathrooms and a fourth double room that shares its bathroom with a bunk bed room.

Outside guests can watch Cormorants and Oystercatchers on the craggy rocks and beaches. The property is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts as the Anglesey coast path passes the front gate. Kayaking can also be organised from the beach next to the house and there are great climbing options on the coastal cliffs.

Rhoscolyn, like all of Sheepskin’s properties, features hotel style comforts including: bathrobes, towels, logs for the fires, iPod docking station and beds made with soft cotton sheets and cosy throws. All guests receive a welcome box full of treats and essentials like fresh roast coffee, tea, olive oil, sea salt, pepper and tasty, traditional Spanish biscuits on arrival.

Just 7 miles from Rhoscolyn see a wonderful array of seabirds from Gulls to Guillemots and Peregrines to Puffins on the cliffs at the RSPB reserve at South Stack Lighthouse. Guests can also enjoy a range of music, dance and film at the Ucheldre performing and visual arts centre in Holyhead, 6 miles from Rhoscolyn Houseand the Anglesey Oyster and Welsh Produce Festival in October is a great opportunity to try the unique Menai oysters as well as some wonderful Welsh cheeses.
