Cheshunt Rugby Club recieves boost from Crest Nicholson

Award-winning housebuilder Crest Nicholson has become proud sponsor of Cheshunt Rugby Club. The developer is providing training and match kit for the Cheshunt 3rd team, which this season has achieved highly impressive wins over Hatfield, Chess Valley, At Albans and Harrow.

Mike Lennon, Captain of Cheshunt Rugby Club 3rd team and Director of Oakwood Demolition, said: “For Crest Nicholson to sponsor the 3rd team is fantastic. In today’s economic climate, securing sponsorship can be extremely difficult as many companies are unwilling to incur such expenditure. Crest, however, immediately agreed to help us. It is fantastic that a national housebuilder is committed to the local community and prepared to sponsor a local team.”

The Cheshunt 3rd team is currently sitting in the middle of the Herts Merit League but, with three fixtures to go before the end of the season, there is everything to play for.

Mike Lennon continues: “In addition to the League, Cheshunt 3rds are through to the next round of the Merit League Cup following a very close home win against Harrow 2s, 20-18. Our reward is Barnet in the next round – third time lucky!

“It has been a great season for us so far with some superb results. We now have around 40 players in our squad which is tremendous. Without our supporters and sponsors our success would not be possible.”
