Local schoolchildren have been playing their part in a new art scheme at Taylor Wimpey’s Kingshill Grange development of property for sale in High Wycombe.

Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has been working in partnership with schools to inspire pupils to develop their artistic skills, as part of a new public art project at its Kingshill Grange development of apartments and houses for sale in High Wycombe.

A workshop for children at Highworth County Combined School in High Wycombe was organised last month as part of the scheme, in which internationally renowned artist Peter Randall-Page has been commissioned to create a piece of sculpture for the new development High Wycombe property off Kingshill Road.

A dozen children from Years 3 to 5 enjoyed an intensive day of art, exploring links between nature, maths and art, in a workshop which was led by professional sculptor Reece Ingram, a former apprentice of Randall-Page.

The pupils’ artistic talents were then showcased at a public exhibition held at the Royal Grammar School in High Wycombe on Friday 21st January, where they made a presentation about their experiences.

The exhibition also saw the unveiling of the exciting designs for the new stone sculpture centrepiece for the Kingshill Grange development of houses and flats for sale in High Wycombe.

Bill Luck, Senior Design and Planning Executive for Taylor Wimpey West London said: “We are thrilled that this exciting public art project at Kingshill Grange is helping inspire the artists of the future in High Wycombe.

“It was incredibly exciting to see the artwork produced by these talented local primary school pupils, who had obviously gained so much from their wonderful day with Reece Ingram.”

Pupils from Highworth will also be invited to plant 12 trees after the stone sculpture is installed this spring, to complete the artwork.

Graeme Kilner, Head teacher at Highworth, said: “We’re thrilled to be part of this public art project which we are sure will become a new focal point for the whole community to enjoy and a nationally significant art work.”

The finished sculpture will reflect the tranquil, tree-lined setting of the new apartments and houses currently on sale at Kingshill Grange.

Further information on the properties is available by visiting the development off Kingshill Road, open seven days a week between 10.30am and 5.30pm.
