Probably the most important advance in ski technology since the parabolic (or Carving) ski – the all new 'ski-mojo' – will be unveiled at the Ski & Snowboard Show which takes place at Olympia in London from 20 to 24 October 2010.

The revolutionary, innovative product is a very special pair of knee supports which will assist skiers of all ages and abilities and is particularly good for those with weak or damaged knees, lower back problems, suffer from thigh burn or who simply run out of energy sooner than they would like on the piste.

Comments Martin Hannaford from Kinetic Innovations, the Company behind the development of ski~mojo: “the ski~mojo we launched three years ago had not been developed much beyond the first working prototype and despite the fact that it was extremely well received – it won several awards and Graham Bell on Ski Sunday said that it made you legs feel turbo-charged – we wanted to see if we could make the product perform even better at the same time as making it, smaller, lighter and simpler to fit.

“The result is a totally new (re-designed) ski~mojo which is virtually unrecognisable from its predecessor, even more unobtrusive, but still gives the same incredible benefits;- significantly reducing the strain and load on the knees and legs, thus reducing the risk of a new injury or worsening an existing problem. It also dramatically improves the user’s stamina allowing much more time to be spent enjoying the slopes.”

The product works by transferring bodyweight through the shell of the ski boot, which reduces the strain on the legs and knees by around 33%. The ski~mojo also acts as a shock absorber, reducing jolts and bumps – which is great news for the older skier.

Initial fitting takes just a few minutes and after that it can be put on and taken off in less time than a pair of ski boots. The breathable neoprene knee supports are worn un-noticed under ski-wear so you don’t have to let-on about the secret of your improved performance if you don’t want to!

Ski~mojo will retail for £324.99 and will be available in November, but at the Ski & Snowboard Show there will be an exclusive show offer of 15% off advance orders, reducing the price to £276.24.
