Taylor Wimpey Bedford helps kids play safe
The leading housebuilder behind the Woodlands Park development of houses for sale in Bedfordshire delivers health and safety talk to school pupils.
Children from a primary school in Bedford learned a valuable lesson about playing safe during a special visit from Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, the leading housebuilder currently constructing new homes in Bedfordshire.
About 150 youngsters at Scott Lower School in Hawk Drive, Brickhill, were taught about the hazards of playing on or near building sites by Sue Hamilton and Nick Leeding from Taylor Wimpey’s nearby Woodlands Park development of property for sale in Bedfordshire.
Sales Executive Sue showed the pupils a video outlining the many different ways in which they could be hurt if they were tempted to use the site as a playground – by falling scaffolding, bricks or pipes, by sharp metal or glass hidden in piles of sand, or by moving vehicles.
Following the visit, Sue said the four to nine-year-old children at the school had learned an important lesson about staying safe.
She said: “At Taylor Wimpey, we take our safety responsibilities very seriously – not just by looking after our site staff during working hours but also by reaching out to the wider community.
“Children are naturally curious about the things going on around them and building sites probably look like fun and exciting places to play, but the reality is they are anything but.
“We hope that by explaining the dangers of playing on or near building sites in a way youngsters can easily understand, we can take away that temptation and prevent them from coming to harm.”
A selection of new three, four and five-bedroom homes is currently available at Taylor Wimpey’s Woodlands Park development in Brickhill, Bedford, with prices ranging from £195,000 to £410,000.
The Woodlands Park Sales Centre is located in Ashmead Road, off Tyne Crescent, Brickhill, and is open seven days a week – from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday, and from 1.30pm to 5pm on Mondays.
