The new Subaru Legacy has been officially named “Japan’s safest car” after being awarded the “GRANDPRIX 09/10” in Japan’s New Car Assessment Programme (JNCAP).

This is the third consecutive year Subaru receives the jury’s top honours. Following in the footsteps of the Impreza -awarded the ‘GRAND PRIX’ in 2007- and of the Forester and Exiga -rewarded for ‘excellence’ in 2008-, the Subaru Legacy was the only vehicle to receive the much coveted award.

The Legacy was rated as the safest passenger car in the collision safety performance tests for drivers and front passengers. It also got the highest rating in the pedestrian head protection performance test.

Established by independent test bodies as one of the safest passenger cars on the market, the Subaru Legacy was recently awarded 2010 “Top Safety Pick” by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS) in the US, reached top 5-star for occupant safety in the latest Australasian New Car Assessment Programme (ANCAP). It also got top 5-star rating in European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP).

The full range of Subaru Boxer Diesels, including the Legacy, is on display now at Subaru Dealerships throughout Ireland. For contact details and for further information on the full Subaru range, visit subaru.ie.
