New Launchpad Gallery at The Science Museum
The UK’s largest free interactive science gallery reopens inviting young visitors to launch a rocket, capture a multicoloured shadow, turn their head into a sound box or control a magnetic cloud.Launchpad, the Science Museum’s most popular gallery will open its doors to the public on Saturday 24 November following a £4 million transformation, with over 50 brand new interactive exhibits specially designed to introduce young visitors to the principles of electricity and magnetism, forces and motion, energy transfer, light, sound and materials.
Explainers from the gallery will be running a brand new series of demos for visitors and performing Science Shows such as ‘Danger! High Voltage’ and ‘The Bubble Show’. The re-invented Launchpad gallery is particularly aimed at 8-14 year olds, their parents and teachers, with provision made for younger children too.
The new Launchpad project has been made possible by principal sponsor Shell, major sponsor Nintendo, major funder The Garfield Weston Foundation, with additional support from the Zochonis Trust.
VISITOR INFORMATION
Admission to Launchpad is free of charge to all visitors.
Science Museum is open daily from 10am – 6pm.
