Lynchett Chase Barn in Maiden Newton, seven miles north-west of Dorchester, has been stylishly converted to sleep eight guests. Oak double doors open to a huge open-plan kitchen/dining/living room with contemporary furnishing and polished stone floors, while upstairs the four bedrooms all have oak floors with rugs and original wooden beams, some low in places; the romantic master bedroom has a four-poster bed.
