Majestic Wine Warehouses orders its 500th Citroen

Majestic Wine Warehouses Ltd has just taken delivery of its 500th Citroen light commercial vehicle. The company, the UK’s largest retailer specialising in the sales of wine by the mixed case, is a long-established Citroen commercial vehicle operator, starting some 16 years ago with C15 vans.

The Majestic Wine Warehouse’s 500th Citroen is a Berlingo 1.9D 800 LX, one of a batch 45 just delivered. This latest batch brings the number of Berlingo and Dispatch vans up to 100 in the company’s 140 strong van fleet. Currently Majestic Wine Warehouses has 129 stores throughout the UK. Typically each store is allocated at least one van to provide the high quality, free delivery service for which the company has become known.

The latest batch of Citroen vans, like the other vehicles in the Majestic Wine Warehouse fleet, are operated on three year, with maintenance, Ogilvie Fleet contract hire agreements.

Nigel Thomson, Majestic Wine Warehouse’s fleet manager explains, “We have found that Citroen Berlingo and Dispatch vans provide the reliable low whole life costs we require for our stores’ delivery operations. They are also popular with our staff as they are both easy to drive and comfortable and, with their side load doors, convenient to operate.”
