Homestep properties snapped up at Bryn Celyn
First-time buyers seeking a helping hand on to the property ladder have snapped up brand new homes released by developer Lovell, thanks to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s innovative Homestep scheme.
Reservations have now been taken on all seven homes at Lovell’s brand-new Bryn Celyn development, between Pontyclun and Llanharry. The flurry of interest saw the entire first phase of Homestep properties snapped up.
Homestep enables purchasers to buy at 75 per cent of the full sale price. At Bryn Celyn, the scheme has allowed eligible buyers to purchase a brand-new two-bedroom home for less than £92,000 (full price of £122,500) with only a five per cent deposit.
Homestep is just one of the innovative schemes being delivered by Rhondda Cynon Taf Council as part of its ongoing commitment to ensure residents can access the homes they need and deserve.
Cllr Craig Middle, Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Cabinet Member with responsibility for Housing, says: “The securing of these seven new homes by first-time buyers means our residents can enjoy affordable, high-quality new homes.
“As well as improving the quality of life for residents, this work is also providing a much-needed boost to our local housing market and associated industry and economy.”

Lovell regional sales manager Kate Rees says: “It just goes to show that there is a real demand for well-priced, high-quality new homes.
