Santa Pod Raceway: Bug Jam 26 is still on!
With the dreadful weather doing its bit to ruin the 2012 show calendar, it’s great news to hear that Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire has announced that this year’s famous Bug Jam event is definitely going ahead.
After extensive preparation and tireless work from the ground staff, the world-famous quarter mile venue is set to host what looks like one of the busiest Bug Jam events ever. The official statement from the venue is shown below.
“In case you’re in any doubt, Bug Jam has not been cancelled and will take place this weekend. Yes, the ground is wet and a few areas are unusable but we will make every effort to ensure the safety and comfort of our visitors. Please be patient on arrival, as it may take a little longer to get you all in and make best use of the campsites. The simple advice is to come prepared; wellies, waterproofs and brollies are a very good idea. The weather continues to be unpredictable however, and the forecast seems to be improving for the event itself. Be warned - festival camping in the wet is not for the fainthearted, so if you’re in any doubt, come as a day visitor. The rest of the site is being prepared and much is on tarmac or hard-standing anyway; the dance tents are up (on tarmac), the stage is being built (on tarmac), the funfair is going up (on tarmac, ) traders are arriving and the vibe is building!
Last year Bug Jam sold out on the Friday, you still have time to book in advance but when they’re gone they’re gone. No entry guaranteed without a ticket.”
So, the message is simple. Pack for a deluge, summon your best Dunkirk spirit – and have a fantastic Bug Jam 26!
